Who attends the FAAA Congress?

Financial planners and advisers, those working in the financial advice profession from across Australia, including practice managers, paraplanners and support staff. Both FAAA members and non-members are welcome to attend.

Why should I attend?

Challenge your thinking, bring your team along and expose them to hearing first hand the latest updates to regulation, legislation, policy, technology and best practice - You'll learn what your peers are doing and take away practical tips you can implement in your practices to stay ahead and be efficient in your business. Then there is networking – a great opportunity to have those side chats with your peers that can be transformational!

Delegates have the chance to earn up to 13 CPD hours by attending sessions at Congress. This can then be boosted up to 34 CPD hours by accessing the delegate-only video content after the event.

When should I arrive?

The Congress opens at 10:00am on Wednesday 27 November. We recommend arriving and registering early to avoid the crowds.

How much is the ticket price?

Early Bird savings are available until 30 September. FAAA members will pay $1,210 inc GST and non-members will pay $1,995 inc GST. From 1 October ticket prices are $1,525 inc GST for FAAA members and $2,310 inc GST for non-members.

If you are a non-member and become an FAAA member before registering for Congress. the difference not only covers the cost of your annual membership fee but will also save you at least another $190* on your Congress registration!

What is CFP® Professional Connect and who can attend?

This session is a workshop and networking event exclusively for CFP professionals and FChFP practitioners, and is run as a separate event to Congress. Scheduled the day prior to the main Congress event in Brisbane, it enables practitioners from around the country to come together to learn and share ideas. More details of the workshop are coming soon!

The session is ticketed and charged separately to your Congress ticket, and registration will be opening soon. The FAAA will notify CFP professionals and FChFP practitioners when they are able to register.

If you plan to attend this session, you should plan to arrive at Novotel Brisbane Southbank by 1:30pm on Tuesday 26 November.

Please note, this is at a different venue to the main FAAA Congress event.

Is there catering throughout the event?

Catering will be provided throughout, beginning on Wednesday morning with arrival refreshments from 10:00am.

Is child care available?

The FAAA don't directly offer childcare or a creche but we have been advised that local company Abracadabra Childcare Services offer a babysitting service.

How can I get a discount on accommodation?

There are many hotels surrounding the convention centre of varying standards. We have partnered again with The Accommodation Brokers to access favourable rates on many hotels in the area.

How difficult are the Fitness sessions?

The fitness sessions will have multiple instructors and will be suited to all fitness standards.

Is Congress supporting any charities?

Yes, we are delighted to be supporting the following organisations – Cancer Council, Future2 Foundation and PFAN (the Pro Bono Financial Advice Network)

Is the Gala Dinner included in my Congress ticket?

No, the FAAA Awards Gala Dinner is a separate ticketed event. Numbers are limited for this event so book early to ensure you don’t miss out. Bookings can be made during the Congress registration process.

I am part of a group. Can I buy a table at the Gala Dinner?

Yes, you can purchase a table of 10. FAAA members receive a saving of $100 on individual tickets when purchasing a table of 10.

Is the Gala Dinner a black tie event?

No this is not black tie event but we do require you to wear business attire or cocktail. It is a special night so feel free to dress up.

Will the Gala Dinner be just speeches and an awards ceremony?

No, they will form a part of this special event but this is also a night for our community to get together, have fun and be entertained.

What does my Gala Dinner ticket buy?

Included in the price of the ticket is a 3 course dinner, beverages and entertainment.

Can I bring my partner to special events?

Yes, we have a spouse/partner ticket option for the Netwealth Welcome Event, FAAA Awards Gala Dinner and the FAAA Community Breakfast. The options will be available during the registration process.

Who goes to the Networking Breakfast?

The Networking Breakfast is available to all delegates and will be served in the Congress Exhibition. This is included as part of the Congress ticket. Please note that the FAAA Community Breakfast is an additional cost and is has limited availability.

Where are breaks held?

The Networking Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will all be held in the Congress Exhibition. We encourage you to attend and meet our partners and exhibitors, take part in competitions and prize draws run by our exhibitors, as well as connecting with friends and colleagues.

Do you cater for people with allergies?

Yes, there is an area for you to provide your dietary requirements during the registration process.
